Getting started
Overview
Who Sporting Scouter is, who we serve, and what we say. Version 2.1 — organizers-only, Magician archetype, post-event debrief as the product.
Three sites, three jobs
| Site | Owns |
|---|---|
| This site | Brand foundation, audience, voice, messaging, applications |
| Design system | Tokens, components, logo mechanics, colour, typography, accessibility |
| Content style guide | How a sentence is written: grammar, UI microcopy, errors, email mechanics |
What changed in v2.1
- Archetype moves from Sage to Magician — transformation with method, never mystique.
- Values rewritten as one Magician-framed table; trust rules retained.
- Data and legal boundaries stated here; no references to other markdown documents.
What changed in v2.0
- One audience: the event organizer. Athlete-facing brand (community, discovery, public reviews) is retired.
- Positioning selected through a judged panel on 2026-07-29.
- Visual identity carries over from v1.1 with minor edits.
How to use this
When a piece of work contradicts these guidelines, the work changes or the guidelines get versioned. Nothing in between. For logo files, colour tokens and component rules, use the design system brand page. For button labels, error copy and sentence mechanics, use the content style guide.
Quick path: start with TL;DR, then Quick reference before publishing anything.
